What crypto-to-crypto exchangers do
Crypto-to-crypto services swap one digital asset for another without touching fiat: BTC to USDT, ETH to USDC, or the same stablecoin across networks such as TRC-20, ERC-20, BEP-20, Solana or Polygon. For payment businesses the most common use is moving settlement funds into the network a partner expects, or consolidating many small coin deposits into one stablecoin.
Types of services
- Instant exchangers with fixed or floating rates and no account required for small amounts.
- Aggregators that route a swap across several liquidity sources to find a better rate.
- Cross-chain bridges and network swaps for stablecoins.
- Exchange APIs for merchants and crypto processors who convert incoming payments automatically.
How to compare
- Effective rate: compare the amount you actually receive, including network fees, not the headline percent.
- Fixed vs floating rate: a fixed rate protects you from moves during confirmation; floating can be cheaper on calm markets.
- Supported networks: check the exact network for each coin — sending to the wrong one is the most common loss.
- Limits: minimum swap size, maximum without verification, daily caps.
- AML checks: many services screen incoming wallets and may hold funds for review; see AML & KYT.
- Speed: confirmations required per network and average completion time.
- Support: live chat and a clear refund process if a swap fails.
When an OTC desk is better
For large blocks, a swap service may move the price or trigger manual checks. An OTC desk quotes a single price for the whole amount and settles bilaterally.
