About the event
FinTech Islands 2027, officially FinTech Islands Experience (FiX 2027), is a three-day summit in Barbados on 27–29 January 2027 at Sam Lord's Castle, a Wyndham Grand Resort in St. Philip. Now in its fifth year, it brings central bankers, regulators, founders, investors and technology leaders together to build a more inclusive, programmable financial system for the Caribbean and other emerging markets.
The event rests on three pillars: policy, with central bankers, regulators and ministers shaping innovation-friendly frameworks with consumer protection; entrepreneurship, with a startup pitch, mentoring and accelerator programmes connecting founders to funding; and talent, through online fintech certificate programmes with Caribbean universities. The agenda covers payment rails, CBDCs and stablecoins, open finance, cross-border remittances and financial inclusion. The organiser expects 600+ leaders from 15 countries on five continents.
Who should attend
Banks and card issuers modernising cores, remittance and cross-border payment providers, stablecoin and infrastructure companies, regulators and investors looking at Caribbean deal flow.
