About
U.S. Payments Forum is the industry body where issuers, acquirers, networks, processors and merchants sort out payment technology questions that no single company can solve alone. It began in August 2012 as the EMV Migration Forum and was renamed in 2016 once its remit grew to tokenization, encryption and contactless. Today it is an affiliated organization of the Secure Technology Alliance.
What it has published lately
On 4 August 2026 the Alliance spun out a new Agentic Trust and Commerce Forum for agentic interoperability, human intent and security, citing a projection of over 300 billion dollars in US agentic commerce by 2030. A podcast episode on 1 June, "Machine Learning & Fraud: A Practitioner Perspective", looked at AI and the fraud ecosystem. In May the Forum issued a Spring Market Snapshot after its member meeting in Houston, covering agentic commerce, tokenization complexity and authentication fraud, and a recap of the Identity & Payments Summit.
