About
The Payments Association is the UK trade body for payments, formerly the Emerging Payments Association, with a network of more than 250 member organisations covering banks, fintechs, merchants and payment providers. Membership is mostly about access: to peers, to regulators and to policy work.
Working groups and policy
Volunteers sit in stakeholder working groups, among them Financial Crime, Cross-Border, Open Banking, Inclusion, Regulator and ESG, which put the membership's view to policymakers. The financial crime group, for example, met HM Treasury to feed into the UK Economic Crime Plan.
Events calendar
The association runs the year's biggest UK payments gatherings. Pay360 was held in London on 25 and 26 March 2026, and the PAY360 Awards took place on 7 October 2026 in front of more than 850 senior executives. Still ahead are Financial Crime 360 on 2 November and PA@Birmingham on 10 November. CEO roundtables and training sit alongside.
Who should care
PSPs, e-money institutions and fintechs working in the UK who want a seat in discussions on fraud, open banking and cross-border rules, or simply a room full of potential partners.
Payments angle
UK policy working groups on financial crime, open banking and cross-border payments, plus the PAY360 conference and awards for networking with PSPs and banks.
