About
Merchant Payments Alliance of India is a group of merchants who accept digital payments in India's fast-growing market. Its secretariat is run by Koan Advisory Group, and the alliance speaks for the acceptance side rather than for banks or networks.
The Checkout newsletter
The main public output is Checkout, a quarterly-style newsletter that began on 12 August 2024. Issue 2 followed on 5 November 2024, then issues dated 31 January, 21 May and 16 September 2025. Volume 3 opened on 1 April 2026, and Volume 3 Issue 2 came out on 28 August 2026. Recent issues deal with UPI autopay interoperability, agentic commerce and the Reserve Bank of India's Payments Vision 2028.
Who benefits
A merchant or PSP working in India gets a compact read on where regulation and UPI rules are heading, with a merchant's angle on costs and acceptance. The archive is a handy way to trace how the alliance's positions developed over two years, and the issues are signed by the secretariat.
Payments angle
The Checkout newsletter follows UPI autopay interoperability, agentic commerce and RBI's Payments Vision 2028 from the merchant side.
