About
Merchant Advisory Group works for merchants inside the payments industry, pushing their interests through collaboration, education and advocacy. Members are large merchants; recent additions include Marcus Theatres, GS1 US, NVIDIA and Stewart's Shops, while sponsors range from Cash App and Recurly to Xendit and Deuna.
MAG Insights
The staff blog is the part open to everyone. Recent posts: "Ready to start thinking about 2027?" by Erica Forman (30 September 2026), "Shaping the Merchant Voice in Agentic Commerce" by Steve Cole (24 September), a guide to the special interest group sessions at MAG Payments Conference 26 by Kelly Andrus (9 September), "Common Sense: Common Cents Act Advances in Both Chambers" on penny retirement by Beth Provenzano (19 August) and Paul Tunstall's "APAC Isn't Following the Future of Payments, It's Defining It" (11 August).
Why it matters to payments people
Topics run through fraud prevention, chargeback management, subscription platforms, BNPL options and compliance. For a PSP it shows what large US merchants ask of acquirers; for a merchant it shows how peers organise on card-network and regulatory issues.
Payments angle
MAG Insights give merchants a peer view on agentic commerce, fraud, chargebacks and subscription billing, written by MAG staff rather than vendors.
