About
The European Payments Council is a Brussels-based association that manages the rulebooks euro payments run on. EPC is open to licensed payment service providers and their associations. Its schemes include SEPA Credit Transfer, SCT Inst, SEPA Direct Debit (Core and B2B) and OCT Inst, plus Verification of Payee, SEPA Request-to-Pay and SEPA Payment Account Access.
The fraud work Fraud is a recurring theme. On 13 October 2026 the EPC hosted the webinar "United in the Defence Against Payment Fraud: Discover FRIDA and Help Shape its Future", attended by over 500 participants from PSPs, infrastructures, associations and public authorities. FRIDA, the Fraud Information Distribution Arrangement, is a new scheme with inter-PSP rules for exchanging fraud-related information across the SEPA area. The discussion covered the operating model, its link to the upcoming Payment Services Regulation, the roadmap and the open consultation on the draft rulebook.
A FRIDA alert is a risk signal, not an instruction to block an account or payment, and the draft says shared information must not be the sole basis for customer-facing decisions.
What you find Rulebooks, implementation guidelines, news and webinar recaps. PSPs use it for scheme changes before they hit their own roadmaps.
