About
The Euro Banking Association (EBA, ABE in French) is a European forum for payments practitioners at banks and financial institutions, sitting between market trends and practical regulatory guidance. Work runs through working groups and expert groups.
Groups Working groups cover Digital Currencies & Smart Payments, Liquidity Management and Open Finance. Expert groups take on payment fraud-related topics, cross-border payments and KYC-related topics.
Latest publications and events On 24 September 2026 the association published "A practical guide to digital money", a neutral, fact-based overview of selected forms of digital money. On 29 September it announced a 22 October webcast with Swift and EBA CLEARING on improving cross-border payments, and on 30 September a November webcast on supercharging embedded finance with agentic AI, drawing on the Open Finance Working Group. Earlier in 2026: video interviews from EBAday (9 July), board elections with three re-elections and two new members (17 June), and the report "Adoption of Tokenised Money – Part 2" (15 June).
Training Summer and winter schools, academy courses and member webinars sit beside the annual EBAday conference.
For a bank payments team, the papers show where European peers stand on tokenised money and cross-border rails.
