Nium

Overview

Nium is a financial infrastructure provider that offers cross-border payouts, currency conversion and card issuing through one API. It operates through entities such as Nium Pte. Ltd., with Singapore and San Francisco named as its bases, and was founded in 2014.

Products

Published products include real-time local payouts in more than 100 countries, virtual bank accounts (vIBAN), payroll and contractor payouts, and Visa and Mastercard issuing. Payment channels include UK Faster Payments, SWIFT and Pix. Multi-currency accounts and foreign exchange (FX) complete the set, and the company positions this as an alternative to slow SWIFT transfers.

Stablecoins

Nium states that in 2026 it launched live corporate USDC pay-ins, payouts and fiat conversion with Coinbase infrastructure. USDC funding can be converted to fiat and paid out through local systems, and stablecoin-linked cards are also offered.

Who it suits

Clients named are banks, fintechs, financial institutions and enterprises, including PSPs, travel, maritime and marketplace platforms. Nium is an infrastructure provider rather than a deposit-taking bank, and its commercial terms are set in an enterprise API contract.
