Overview
J.P. Morgan offers bank escrow for M&A, capital raising, litigation, real estate and international transactions.
Services
- Escrow
- Paying agent
- Cross-border escrow
Structures supported
The bank supports holdbacks, good-faith deposits and paying-agent services. A holdback keeps part of a purchase price in escrow after closing to cover claims, while a paying agent distributes funds, such as dividends or acquisition consideration, to many recipients on behalf of an issuer or buyer.
Reporting
The Escrow Direct portal combines data on accounts and transactions, so deal teams can follow balances and releases in one place rather than through separate statements.
Provider type
The provider is a bank, so funds are held within a regulated banking group, which can matter to counterparties in large transactions.
Terms to confirm
Supported currencies, countries, fees, minimum deal size, onboarding documents and the bank entity that would act as escrow agent are not listed and should be requested for the specific deal.
