Anchorage Digital

Overview

Anchorage Digital is a US national trust bank for institutional digital assets, combining custody, settlement and USD banking. The operating entity is Anchorage Digital Bank National Association, part of Anchor Labs, Inc., founded in 2017 and active in the United States and Singapore.

Custody and settlement

Products include federally chartered qualified custody, biometric and hardware-enforced approvals, and the Atlas off-exchange settlement network. According to the provider, Atlas settles USD and digital assets instantly, 24/7 including holidays. The company states that custody assets are fully segregated and not available to creditors.

USD accounts and payments

Fiat services include USD custody accounts and virtual accounts with unique routing details, reachable via ACH, wire and SWIFT. USD custody is carried out through a licensed FDIC-insured sub-custodian, and digital assets are not FDIC or SIPC insured. This does not mean that all Anchorage assets are insured.

Regulation

The bank holds OCC charter 25243 and is regulated by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Its registered address in the OCC list is 101 S. Reid Street, Sioux Falls, SD.

Who it suits

The client base includes banks, credit unions, ETF issuers, funds, corporates and governments. Terms are set by institutional contract, and access depends on the legal entity and onboarding restrictions. An API and documentation are published at docs.anchorage.com.
