VALR

VALR is a cryptocurrency exchange with regional services for African markets, and also runs an OTC desk for large trades between crypto assets and fiat. The legal name given is VALR (Pty) Ltd, with South African registration number 2018/211274/07, a self-claimed figure.

Services The platform covers crypto-to-fiat and crypto-to-crypto trading. The OTC desk publishes its own terms for larger transactions, and supports special subscriptions and redemptions of digital investment tokens, including USDPC.

Licences by entity Official documentation publishes client and complaints channels. Licences and prior authorisations held by different VALR legal entities should not be mixed up: the permissions of one entity do not automatically extend to another. Clients should therefore establish which entity serves their account and market.

Who it suits Retail users in supported African markets can use the exchange, while institutions and high-net-worth clients can use the OTC desk to avoid moving the order book on larger trades.
