Overview

Hodl Hodl is a peer-to-peer Bitcoin marketplace that uses multisignature escrow, so users trade with each other instead of with a custodial exchange.

How escrow works

Each trade is secured by a 2-of-3 multisignature escrow: the operator holds one key and cannot move funds unilaterally. The service supports fiat-to-BTC and crypto-to-BTC trades on the Bitcoin network, and an API is available. The minimum is 0.00025 BTC per trading contract.

Fees

The standard fee is 0.75%, and a referral code lowers it to 0.5%. A minimum fee applies and is dynamic, depending on the mempool and the transaction size. Referral details are in the FAQ.

Access and verification

Registration needs an email address. The operator may introduce mandatory identification where the law or internal policy requires it. The terms prohibit third-party accounts, illicit funds and sanctions evasion. The service is restricted in Russia, Belarus, the United States and its territories, Cuba, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Somalia and UN-embargoed jurisdictions; the contract sets out the full scope.

Entity

The operator is Hodlex Ltd, registered in the Marshall Islands under number 89220.
