Bitfinex is a centralised crypto exchange that also runs OTC services. The operating entity is iFinex Inc., and customers hold balances in custodial exchange accounts.

Trading The exchange supports crypto-to-crypto trading and fiat-to-crypto conversion. According to the published fee table, spot maker and taker fees are zero, while other products and transfers carry separate tariffs. An API is documented at docs.bitfinex.com, and the support area links to an affiliate programme.

OTC desk A dedicated OTC desk handles large trades outside the public order book. The minimum is the equivalent of USD 100,000, and the desk asks for a profile covering volumes, currencies and trading hours. A Bitfinex account, an OTC nickname and Intermediate verification or higher are required, according to the company. User-to-user OTC transfers start from USD 50.

Who it suits Active traders can use spot markets and the API, while larger clients with block trades can use the OTC desk. Liquidity and fees for non-spot products should be checked in the relevant tariff tables.
