Overview
QNB Qatar is the Qatari operation of Qatar National Bank (Q.P.S.C.), also known simply as QNB. It provides merchant acquiring for e-commerce together with business bank accounts.
Online acquiring
The e-commerce service is built around a hosted payment page, tokenisation, recurring payments and IVR (payments taken over the phone through an interactive voice menu). Point-of-sale terminals and myPOS are available separately for merchants who need card acceptance in a physical location.
Requirements
To connect, a merchant needs an account with the bank, a signed merchant agreement, a commercial registration and documents of the authorised signatory. The bank therefore expects a customer relationship before the gateway is switched on.
Who it suits
Businesses registered in Qatar that sell online or take repeat payments and are content to hold their settlement account with the same bank. Merchants that only need a terminal at a counter can look at the POS options instead.
Before applying
Fees, settlement times and supported card schemes should be requested from the bank, since they are not listed in the published description.
