Overview
Nedbank is a South African bank that provides merchant acquiring alongside business bank accounts. It is named as the acquirer in a general merchant agreement that covers both point-of-sale (POS) and e-commerce acceptance.
Acceptance products
The merchant offering includes card acceptance at the counter, online payments and integrated payments for businesses that connect acceptance to their own systems. Business bank accounts are available for companies in the same relationship.
Changes to the POS range
The bank states that from June 2026 new standard POS devices for small businesses are offered through iKhokha. Android POS terminals and PocketPOS units that Nedbank sold earlier remain supported. More complex merchant solutions are handled as a separate line, so larger or non-standard merchants should expect a different onboarding route from the small-business one.
Who it suits
The offer targets businesses in South Africa that want a bank as their acquirer and account provider. Pricing, settlement times and the terms of each legal entity and market are not set out in one place, so they should be requested from Nedbank directly.
