Overview
NCBA Bank Kenya is a Kenyan bank that offers business bank accounts to companies. The range is built around two account types, a Current Account and a Collection Account, and the bank states that a dedicated relationship manager serves corporate clients.
Accounts and currencies
The Current Account is the everyday operating account for a company. According to the published terms, it carries no minimum operating balance. The Collection Account is designed for incoming receipts: funds are swept automatically to the client's other account, and fees for it are set under separate conditions.
Accounts can be opened in Kenyan shillings (KES) as well as in US dollars (USD), euros (EUR) and pounds sterling (GBP), which suits businesses that invoice or pay suppliers in more than one currency.
Who it suits
The service is aimed at businesses operating in Kenya that need a conventional bank account with a named contact at the bank, rather than a fintech wallet. The bank's head office is in Upper Hill, Nairobi. Fee schedules for the Collection Account and for foreign-currency accounts should be confirmed with the bank before opening.
