Bank Muscat

Bank Muscat is an Omani bank that provides business accounts, merchant acquiring, POS terminals and an e-commerce gateway. Its Najahi Current Account is designed for micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in Oman.

Opening a business account

To open the account, a company supplies registration documents, proof of chamber of commerce and industry membership, and identification of its managers and signatories. The bank states that large joint-stock companies and some other organisations are directed to different products instead.

Acquiring and payments

Alongside the account the bank lists merchant acquiring for in-store POS acceptance and an online gateway for e-commerce. This lets a small Omani business combine settlement, card acceptance and web payments with a single institution.

Who it suits

The offer targets local SMEs that are formally registered in Oman and need an everyday account together with card acceptance. Minimum balance requirements, supported currencies, restricted industries and fees depend on the product and are best confirmed with the bank before applying. Clients are businesses, not individuals.
