Paddle is a London-based payments company founded in 2012 that works as a Merchant of Record for SaaS, AI services and mobile apps. It combines checkout, billing and payment localisation in one platform.
What Merchant of Record means Under this model Paddle is the legal seller: it collects payment, calculates and remits sales taxes in different countries, and handles refunds and disputes. The software developer avoids tax and payment administration and receives revenue minus the fee.

Markets and pricing The stated reach is more than 200 countries. The published rate is 5% plus USD 0.50 per transaction, or an individual enterprise tariff. Commission terms for partner programme participants are agreed separately with each partner.
