CIMB Bank is a Malaysian bank, operating as CIMB Bank Berhad, that offers merchant acquiring alongside business bank accounts. Its payments products also appear under the names BizChannel@CIMB and CIMB OCTO Biz.
Acceptance products The company lists POS terminals, DuitNow QR, payment links and e-commerce packages. A CIMB business account is required to join. For card payments at the terminal, the bank states next-business-day crediting, while QR settlement depends on the time of the transaction.
Why a bank acquirer When a bank is the acquirer, payments land in an account at the same bank, so acceptance, the settlement account and support sit with one counterparty. For a company that already banks there this can simplify onboarding and reconciliation. The trade-off is a stricter client review than at non-bank providers.
Who it fits - retail shops and service businesses in Malaysia; - companies that hold their operating account with CIMB; - merchants that value support through banking channels.
Rates, card networks and deposit-protection details differ by legal entity and market and are set after the bank reviews an application, taking turnover and line of business into account. A dedicated service desk handles enquiries from merchants.
