iCard Digital wallet

iCard Digital wallet is a payment service of the Bulgarian company iCard AD, operating since 2007. iCard Business gives companies payment accounts and business cards with international transfers. The provider is an electronic money institution (EMI) supervised by the Bulgarian National Bank, so it works with e-money rather than a banking licence of its own.

Cards and currencies

The service issues virtual Visa and Mastercard cards in USD, EUR, RON and GBP, with the number, expiry and code shown in the app. Two cards are free; each additional card costs EUR 1 to issue, and there is no maintenance fee.

Top-ups and verification

Accounts are funded by SEPA and Swift transfers. Opening a wallet requires KYC identity verification.

Network participation

According to the official site, iCard is a principal member of Visa, Mastercard and BORICA and an aggregator for American Express; the roles differ by scheme. The BIC is INTFBGSF.

Legal entity

iCard AD is registered at Business Park Varna, Building B1, Varna 9009, Bulgaria.

Freelancers, small teams and businesses paid in euros or dollars that need separate cards for subscriptions and ad accounts.
