PAPSS COWRY 2026

PAPSS COWRY 2026 is the annual payments conference of the Pan-African Payment and Settlement System, the platform launched by Afreximbank and adopted by the African Union to underpin trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area. The 2026 edition is co-hosted with the National Bank of Ethiopia and takes place over two days at the Ethiopian Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa. Its theme is "Scaling Africa's Sovereign Payments: From Continental Connectivity to Global Integration". PAPSS has said it will use the conference to discuss the next phase of its growth, with new solutions being piloted during 2026.

Central banks, commercial banks, cross-border PSPs, remittance companies and fintechs that connect to PAPSS or handle intra-African trade payments in local currencies. It is also relevant for providers that settle African corridors through correspondent banks and want to see what continental rails may change.
