Square Developer Forums

The Square developer forums are Square's official place for questions about its API and SDKs. Since May 2026 they are the central hub: Discord and email support were shut down, and Square staff monitor the forums during US business hours.

What gets discussed

Categories are Questions (by far the largest), Feature Requests, MCP, Announcements and Site Feedback. Questions cover the Web Payments SDK and 3-D Secure, declined CreatePayment calls, "Square Production Webhooks Returning 401 - Signature Mismatch", hosted checkout and inventory sync, Terminal API, subscriptions, bookings and recurring ACH in sandbox. Feature requests include an Estimates API and Bitcoin payments. Sellers write from the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and Japan, and iOS deep-linking and Android reader availability come up often.

Worth knowing

The welcome post has over 13,000 views. Reading is open; posting requires signing in. For integrators it is the quickest way to see whether an odd decline or webhook failure is a known issue, and for PSP product teams it shows where a competing developer experience frustrates users.
