Paygen is a company offering merchant services and a payment gateway. Its main focus is opening merchant accounts for high-risk businesses.
What makes a merchant high-risk
Banks classify companies as high-risk when they have high refund and chargeback rates, regulatory restrictions or an industry with a volatile reputation. Such businesses are often refused standard acquiring or see accounts closed without explanation. A specialised provider finds a partner bank willing to accept the model and connects a gateway to it.
What a merchant account gives you
A merchant account is where the acquirer credits card payment proceeds. Without one, a business cannot accept cards directly. For high-risk companies a stable account and gateway is a question of keeping sales running.
What to clarify
Paygen does not publish its list of industries, countries, pricing or reserve terms. These are set during underwriting, when the provider reviews the business model, processing history and chargeback level. Approval of any specific company is not guaranteed and depends on the review.
