Frictionless is building a solution for trade between countries of Southeast Asia and is gathering payment partners for it. The request was published in September 2026 and is aimed only at licensed players.
Who is wanted - sponsor banks, under whose licence a fintech can issue products and settle funds; - acquirers for card acceptance; - PSPs and PayFacs, providers and payment facilitators able to onboard merchants; - stablecoin infrastructure for settling in digital dollars between countries.
Why this mix Cross-border trade in the region needs several layers at once: a banking base, payment collection from buyers and fast movement of funds between currencies. Stablecoin settlement complements traditional banking rails in this setup.
