Clearhaus is a Danish acquirer and technology platform founded in 2011 in Aarhus, operating through Clearhaus A/S. It accepts Visa and Mastercard payments and serves European e-commerce, PSPs, SaaS and digital services in the EU/EEA, the United Kingdom and Switzerland.
What an acquirer does An acquirer signs the contract with the merchant, receives funds from the card schemes and passes them on to the seller. It answers to Visa and Mastercard for the merchant, so it reviews the business at onboarding and monitors chargeback levels.
Dispute and risk tools Clearhaus lists a dispute management API with webhooks, preventive alerts, real-time fraud rules, a 3DS2 engine and a transparent chargeback-ratio dashboard. The company positions the API as developer-friendly, with full programmatic access to chargeback handling.
Methods and connection Only Visa and Mastercard are supported. Anyone needing American Express, local cards or wallets must add them through another provider or an orchestrator. A specialised acquirer often works with gateways and payment platforms: the merchant picks a gateway, and Clearhaus provides the acquiring.
