Why it matters for high-risk businesses
Merchants are classed as high risk because of their industry, a high refund rate, a subscription model or cross-border sales. Mainstream banks often decline such companies or close accounts after the first disputes. A specialised provider finds an acquirer willing to take that profile, and chargeback tools help keep the dispute ratio below card scheme thresholds so the account is not lost.
