Banbox, which also operates as Oceanget, wants to accept payments in Bangladesh through local mobile wallets and gateways. It is looking for a provider that will onboard it as a merchant and give it a test environment for integration.
Methods needed - bKash, the country's most widely used mobile wallet; - Nagad, the second major mobile wallet; - other Bangladeshi payment gateways.
For online businesses in Bangladesh these wallets are the main way people pay, since far fewer customers use bank cards.
What is expected from the provider - registering the company as a merchant; - an API sandbox so developers can test the integration before launch; - a move to the live environment afterwards.
What to clarify No payment volume is given. A provider should check whether the request is still active, what the company's own merchant entity is, how ready it is technically and commercially, which verticals, methods and regions it needs, expected turnover, settlement and signing authority. Onboarding is only possible under the merchant's own legal entity; using someone else's accounts is not an option.
