A pre-seed startup is building a payments product for AI agents and needs a sponsor bank or banking infrastructure platform. The agent makes purchases on a person's behalf, but every transaction goes through the user's own authorization.
Features required - customer wallets opened through a sponsor bank; - card issuance to pay for the agent's actions; - payment authorization and configurable controls, so the user decides what the agent may pay for.
Stage There is no revenue yet, the company is not named publicly, and it has no users or transaction volume. For a sponsor bank this is an early client that would need underwriting from scratch.
Open questions The founder has not disclosed the jurisdiction, the legal entity, or how safeguarding and agent authority will be structured. For such a provider these are first-call topics: without full and accurate disclosure a bank cannot assess the risk. The startup declined advice to reframe the business as a different category, so it needs a partner willing to work with agent payments as they are.
