What gets discussed
Merchants ask why a payout is paused, how long a payment hold will last and what to do after an account review. Developers trade notes on payouts and marketplaces. A thread from May 2026 introduces a Stripe Marketplace app that helps compile chargeback evidence, useful for sellers who handle disputes.
Why it earns a place on a payments reading list
Stripe is the default gateway for a huge share of small online businesses, so its pain points are market-wide: reserves, risk reviews and terminations. A risk manager at a competing PSP can learn what merchants find unacceptable; a founder can see warnings before building a business on a single processor.
