A developer building a paid-subscription app in Flutter is looking for a Merchant of Record for subscriptions. Polar is named as an example, but other options are welcome. The key condition is that the setup must comply with app store rules rather than work around them.
Requirements - monthly and yearly subscriptions; - a checkout where the Merchant of Record is the seller; - compatibility with Apple and Google policies.
Why a MoR According to the developer, Apple and Google merchant payouts are not supported in their country. So they need an intermediary that takes the payment, handles taxes and refunds, and passes revenue to the developer. A provider should explain up front how its checkout fits App Store and Google Play requirements for digital subscriptions.
Stage and details The app is still in development with no volume. Country, product and legal entity are not disclosed. Policy claims from commenters were not verified, so the exact integration pattern is still open.
