TradeSafe is a South African escrow payment platform in which funds from companies and private individuals are held in escrow at Standard Bank. The legal entity is Trade-Safe Holdings (Pty) Ltd, with registration number 2013/170109/07.
Services The platform provides escrow payments, milestone payments, split payments and a GraphQL marketplace API. The company states that it is a Third Party Payment Provider (TPPP). The current FAQ limits the service to domestic South African transactions.
Fees For API users, the stated fees are EFT 0.75%, Ozow 1.5%, Visa and Mastercard 3%, SnapScan 3.5%, RCS 2.75% and Diners 2.5%, all excluding VAT. The standalone platform has separate rates.
Settlement EFT can take up to 36 hours to clear. After the buyer accepts the result, same-day payout is stated.
Who it suits Marketplaces and service platforms in South Africa that need staged or divided payouts between buyer and seller.
