PNC is a US banking group that offers merchant acquiring, escrow and paying-agent services for deals, and business bank accounts. The group parent is The PNC Financial Services Group.
Merchant services
The acquiring arm, PNC Merchant Services, enables in-person, online and telephone payments, with Clover equipment and security tools. The page separates the merchant services provider, PNC Merchant Services Company, from the bank products of PNC Bank, National Association. An application requires a business account, which can also be opened at a different bank.
Escrow and paying agent
The bank provides escrow and paying-agent services for mergers and acquisitions and commercial transactions. The process covers account opening, agreement review, KYC and options for placing funds. A separate portal digitises the collection of documents from recipients of payments.
Who it suits
US merchants that want an acquirer attached to a large bank, and companies arranging transactions that require a neutral party to hold funds. Pricing for acceptance and escrow is not published in a single schedule and is agreed with the bank, which will also state which legal entity contracts for each service.
