Caladan is a global proprietary trading group and a liquidity provider for digital assets. It offers institutional participants exchange market making, OTC trading and API liquidity, and states that it is present on more than 65 venues. The company was founded in 2017.
Services Three services are listed: OTC trading, API liquidity and market making. Market making means Caladan quotes prices on trading venues itself and supplies depth to them. The OTC desk is designed for large trades that would move the price on an open order book, and API liquidity gives client systems programmatic access to those quotes.
Who it suits The model is aimed at institutional counterparties such as exchanges, funds, brokers and payment companies that need deep digital-asset liquidity. Because Caladan trades for its own account, quoted prices come from its own book rather than from an agency model.
