Em@ney

Em@ney is a Maltese electronic money institution founded in 2012 and licensed by the Malta Financial Services Authority under the European E-Money Directive 2009/110/EC. It serves businesses with accounts, payments and cards.

Services The company offers business accounts, SEPA and non-SEPA payments (via SWIFT), multi-IBAN accounts, vanity IBANs and Mastercard debit cards. The Virtualio and Vanity IBAN solutions let a client run several IBANs and personalised account details.

Onboarding Valid identification documents are required, and account opening is subject to institutional approval, so acceptance is not automatic.

Registration and safeguarding The company is registered in Malta under C55558, with BIC EMONMTM2 and MT ABI code 02015; its office is at 179 Marina Street, Pietà. The company states that client funds are held independently; as with any e-money balance, that is not a promise of zero risk.
