Resumen
Speed is a crypto payment gateway that accepts and sends payments in Bitcoin, over the Lightning Network and in stablecoins. It provides an API and a dashboard for merchants, payment providers and other companies.
Methods
- Bitcoin — the base network, suited to larger amounts.
- Lightning — a layer on top of Bitcoin for fast, low-cost payments, handy for small purchases and micropayments.
- Stablecoins — coins pegged to fiat currency that remove exchange-rate risk between payment and settlement.
Payments and payouts
The gateway works both ways: a company can collect payments from customers and send payouts to partners, sellers or users. The company positions its infrastructure for fast settlement and advertises instant settlement. In practice the timing depends on the network and the flow: Lightning clears almost immediately, while on-chain Bitcoin transactions wait for confirmations.
